Your support enhances lives in our community
The Salt mine is a faith-based non-profit, currently serving 1,800 families in our community. Our main charitable activity at this time is to enhance and improve the lives of people in our community by providing food assistance. We desire that no senior, family, or child who needs food goes hungry in Lincoln or Sheridan, California. We rely on your donations to keep our neighbors fed on a daily basis.
Our fully volunteer-staffed Food Closet has a variety of food boxes that are designed to give the best we can to each of our clients. People who need food assistance can receive a pantry box every month and a fresh food box five days a week. Those who are unhoused can receive a homeless daypack 5 days a week, as well as utilize our shower, laundry, and clothing services.
Our Thrift Store helps fund our Food Closet and other programs while also providing the community with an affordable option for clothing, furniture, and a wide variety of household goods. Many clothing items and toiletries donated to our Thrift Store are used to help people in need.
Salt Mine Youth is an after-school youth program on Wednesdays, in which our youth leaders partner with students and their families to help equip students for success.
All of these programs are designed to directly help the residents of Lincoln and Sheridan. Thank you for giving back to our community by supporting The Salt Mine. You play a huge role in keeping our neighbors fed!
